In-text citations help the reader to give credit to the authors of the references they have used in their works. All ideas that have been borrowed from references, any statistics and direct quotes must be referenced properly. The name and date of publication of the paper should be included when writing an in-text citation. For example, in APA, after stating the information, you can put an in-text citation after the end of the sentence, such as (Smith, 2021). If you are quoting directly from a source, include the page number in the citation, for example (Smith, 2021, p. 15). Remember to also include a corresponding reference list at the end of your paper that provides full details of each source cited in your text. An example paragraph highlighting the use of in-text citations is as below:
The integration of technology in nursing practice has significantly transformed patient care and improved health outcomes. According to Smith (2021), the use of electronic health records (EHRs) has streamlined communication among healthcare providers, allowing for more coordinated and efficient care delivery. Furthermore, Johnson and Brown (2020) highlight that telehealth services have expanded access to care, particularly for patients in rural areas, thereby reducing barriers to treatment.

The reference helps provide the reader with the complete details of the sources you cited in the paper. The reference list should start with the title “References” on a new page. It should be aligned center and bolded, in sentence sentence care. The references should be organized in an ascending order alphabetically and each should have a hanging indent. If a source has no author, it should be alphabetized by the title of the work, ignoring any initial articles such as “A,” “An,” or “The.” If you have multiple works by the same author, list them in chronological order, starting with the earliest publication.
Each reference entry should include specific elements depending on the type of source. For books, include the author’s last name, first initial, publication year in parentheses, the title of the book in italics, the edition (if applicable), and the publisher’s name. For journal articles, include the author’s last name, first initial, publication year in parentheses, the title of the article (not italicized), the title of the journal in italics, the volume number in italics, the issue number in parentheses (if applicable), and the page range of the article. For online sources, include the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or the URL at the end of the reference. An example reference list is as follows:

HQS 630 Topic 1 Elements Of Change Management DQ 1 Instructions
Think about a change that took place at an organization for which you have worked or with which you have interacted with in the past. Who was involved during the change management process and what was their role? What impact did each professional have on the change management process? Was there a professional who was missing from the change management team? How would his or her involvement make a difference in the project?
Sample 1 Approach to HQS 630 Topic 1 Elements Of Change Management DQ 1
Change occurs often, especially in healthcare, as an adaptation to changing needs, evidence, technology, and practice guidelines updates. I have witnessed several occasions as my organization was implementing and integrating change. The most recent change was implementing a barcode technology in the intensive care unit. The technology was implemented to reduce medication errors in the unit. This discussion evaluates a recent organizational change, professionals’ involvement, and their significance.
Professionals in change management play unique and interdependent roles vital for change success (Cummings & Worley, 2014). The professionals involved in the change management process were the unit charge nurse, nurses, technicians, and the nurse informaticist. The nurse informaticist educated the nurses on the new technology, its purpose, and its implementation. The unit charge nurse was the leader during the change and monitored its implementation, ensuring all professionals had all the resources needed for its successful implementation.
The technicians offered technical support and advice on the best technologies to use, as well as their installation and maintenance services. The nurses were the main implementers who utilized the technology and reported on factors such as effects on the work speed, usability, barriers, and facilitators to its use. Every professional had a major and unique role in the process, and their presence was paramount. Any member’s absence or failure to implement assigned roles could have led to marked difficulties and possible change implementation failure.
No professionals were missing from this team because medication administration is a role performed by the nurses. The quality assurance leader was missing from the team. The quality assurance department plays a crucial role in hospitals, such as ensuring the interventions implemented meet the threshold for quality and safety of patients. They analyze the interventions comprehensively and ensure they are safe and high-quality. Their presence could have ensured that the change does not pose any quality or safety issues to the patients or staff currently or in the future. Change management is a delicate process that requires accurate selection and effort from all professions vital to the change.

Sample 2 Approach to HQS 630 Topic 1 Elements Of Change Management DQ 1
Change management is an integral part of any organization. “With expectations and requirements to keep up with technology and regulations, businesses and organizations must constantly make changes and adjustments to their practices to keep business processes efficient and cost-effective” (Coursera, 2023, p. 2). While working at an OB/GYN practice we worked on a project to implement a system where we could help new mothers be aware of things to watch out for during pregnancy and post-partum from the moment, they get the pregnancy diagnosis.
By making them aware the practice could help address patient concerns better because they would be better informed from the start. The medical assistants and midwives suggested a system we now call “The new OB bag”, which is a bag we give to all new OB patients in their viability ultrasound appointment that contains goodies, information on common things to look out for, important phone numbers and addresses, among other things. In this change process those involved where; a project manager, some sponsors, some medical assistants, some providers (CNMs, MDs & PAs) and the supervisors from all offices.
The project manager led the team towards what the organization wanted to achieve, ensured there was an effective communication plan, among many other things. The sponsors provided the goodies that are given to the patients (bag, baby formula, nipple balm baby bottles, etc.). The selected medical providers created the information packet added to the bag with the selected medical assistants.
And finally, the office supervisors (people managers) ensured that those practices were aware of the changes and how they were to be implemented. I personally don’t believe that anyone was missing in the change management process for this project and together the “new OB bag” was created and implemented in all the organizations medical practices and it’s now an integral part of their pregnancy plan for patients.
People managers or in this case the office supervisors are the ones close to the action. Their teams are the people who must alter how they do their jobs to make a change successful. People managers are the preferred senders of change messages about the personal impact of a change on their team members (Prosci, n.d., p. 29). If let’s say the office supervisors were not included in the process the probability of success would have been low.
