One such novel approach is the use of graphene oxide and light emitting diodes that have shown in vivo studies to inhibit growth of such bacteria like S. aureus or P. aeruginosa (Lodovico et al., 2022). I would argue that this type of novel approach will be the future treatment option for bacterial infections. As such research should be initiated to develop a viable delivery system and treatment model for the use of graphene oxides and light emitting diodes.
